LTC (R) Joseph Lane is a 28-year retired U.S. Army Veteran, Combat
Engineer serving Active Army, Army Reserves, and Tennessee Army National Guard.

He graduated from both the Engineer Officer’s Basic and Advanced Courses, Explosive and Demolition Courses, Personnel, Operations, Supply, and Logistics Courses, General and Heavy Maintenance, Vertical and Horizontal Construction Design and Management, Staff Officer Planning Course, and Commander’s Course.
LTC Lane has served in various positions with the Army from Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, Company Commander, Battalion Staff Officer, Battalion Commander, Brigade Administrative Officer, and various Brigade Staff Officer Assignments. He is a Veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He served as the Iraq Theater Chief of Design Engineering responsible for over $250 Million Dollar Projects. He is currently active in supporting our community by serving and participating in the following Community Service organizations and boards:

for Children
- Past District Lieutenant Governor and President of Kiwanis Club of
Jackson
- Member of the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association
- Member of the National Funeral Directors Association
- Member of the Tennessee National Guard Association
- Member of the VFW Post 6496 and currently Junior Vice Commander
- Member of American Legion Post 12
He is a VFW Life Member and an American Legion Member. He is currently serving as the Junior Vice Commander for the 2026-2027 service year. He has served as Past Commander of VFW Post 6496 and has served in various staff positions since joining in 2018. He is eligible for membership due to being awarded the following medal:
